We met when we were just 17, through a mutual friend at Collège Ahuntsic. We would sneak into each other’s classes just to spend more time together — and that’s where our story truly began.

 

Ayssar remembers showing up at Kim’s house for our first date while she was playing video games. In that moment, he realized how easy it was to be around her — and how much fun life together could be. From the start, Ayssar fell fast. Kim took her time — something we still tease each other about — but once she did, there was no going back. On our second date, Kim made us walk across town so she could get Drake’s new CD… little did Ayssar know, that would be the first of many musical adventures — the kind that would one day take us on unforgettable trips for someone very special on stage.

 

Since then, our lives have grown and evolved together. We graduated from the John Molson School of Business, bought our first condo, and even survived the pandemic cuddled up in Ayssar’s basement — turning long days into some of our favorite memories.

 

Over the years, we’ve traveled the world, always chasing new experiences and falling a little more in love with each other (and with Italy) along the way. Somewhere between the sunsets, the pasta, and the laughter, Italy captured our hearts — so it felt only right to return here to celebrate the next chapter of our story.

 

What began as two teenagers in love has become our greatest adventure — one built on laughter, friendship, and a love that feels like home.

If our story had to continue anywhere, it could only be in Italy — the place that has captured our hearts time and time again. While in Cinque Terre, Ayssar surprised Kim with a boat tour along the coast — unaware that it was all part of a plan, and that the “other guests” on board were there to capture the moment that would change our lives.

As the day unfolded, Ayssar’s nerves grew with every passing hour. Kim could sense something in the air, though she couldn’t quite guess it — not until two people with enormous cameras stepped aboard our boat in Vernazza. A few moments later, with the sea glimmering around us and pastel villages fading in the distance, Ayssar got down on one knee.

What followed was nothing short of magic: a golden sunset over the Ligurian coast, a bottle of champagne, dolphins dancing in the waves, and the feeling that time had stood still. We spent the rest of the evening calling our family and friends, reliving every detail of the moment we said “yes” to forever.
